fur of satin midnight
she is ever
aloof
wary
silent
an island of comportment
her tail-wrapped feet situated primly
at the boundary of our
all-too-human bustle
amber cabochons
blink in the sunshine
observing
studying
from the doorway
from the top step
intrigued but uninvolved
present but apart
until today
when she climbs up
nestles between us
curls in close
a nebulous shadow of rumbling warmth

She probably does this to show that she respects your space and on rare occasions invade it to show how much she really cares for you. It is kitty kindness. 😊 🙂 😄

This day was another of those days. She’s beside me now… happens about once every two-three months.

Oh she is trying to see if she can gain your trust and then you have to gain hers in return. that is so rare!!! 😀 My cat did this when I first got her she died though she was 22 in human years when we had to put her down. it took awhile to gain her trust because she was shy. 🙂 It sort of depends on how shy your little kitten really is. try not to force the trust. Take it at her pace when she is used to you she will let you hold her or she will try to climb on your shoulders. A cat does not have to gain your trust but you have to gain hers. animal rule. it is a very great way to bond with your cat. only once she is ready though. 🙂

I can always tell how warm it is outside by how “affectionate” the cat is.
Cool or cold weather = snuggly cat.

Indeed. Actually, she does this about twice a year. We don’t know why. She’s just…odd.
